Apprenticeship Program


 

Start your career in the custom architectural sheet metal industry by taking part in our two year apprenticeship program tailored specifically for Baird and Wilson Sheetmetal.  Knowledgable instructors with lifetime careers of experience will conduct the program, teaching you techniques that have been tried and tested by our company for over 40 years.  At Baird and Wilson, we strive for excellence and want our employees to take pride in their work.  This is the first step in achieving this goal.

Earn while you learn

Baird and Wilson Sheetmetal apprenticeship program allows you to enter the workforce faster than a four year college degree.  Unlike college, it is an earn while you learn program.  You will work through the week and attend class one night per week.  Once your complete the two year program you have job security, greater earning power, greater opportunities for advancement, and best of all, greater job satisfaction without the burden of college debt.

Vision and Goals

Participants in the program will gain knowledge concerning:

  • Safety Standards
  • Proper use of equipment, tools, and materials
  • Fabrication and installation of architectural materials
  • Techniques perfected by our company and why these techniques work
  • Exceptional work ethics
Requirements/Incentives
  • Two absences are permitted per semester
  • Quizzes must be passed in order to advance to the next semester
  • Monetary incentives at the end of each year of the apprenticeship program
  • After successfully completing both years tuition costs will be returned to you
